As nominal and professionally milled lumber (purchased from lumber mills back in the 1930's-1950's) these barn boards have a thinner profile and a more smooth surface vs. our other older barn wood choices. With this line of shelving you get a beautiful mix of rustic charm and mid century modern beauty...all in a easier to clean, thinner looking (yet still substantial solid wood of course) type of beautiful shelving. Each floating shelf is protected by multiple layers of Polyurethane for a lifetime of beauty and protection. The default sheen level is Eggshell. If you desire Matte, Semi or High gloss please leave a note at checkout letting me know your ideal sheen level and I'll be sure to create your favorite for you! If you would like some hooks for under your shelf, just let me know...I have quite a few hooks on hand and will happily provide you with some (no charge)...or you may always purchase the decorative hooks you like best and install them under your shelving (yet another advantage of solid wood shelves, all types of hooks work great!)
